The result of consolidating these metrics you can see on the dashboard that we created at Tableau ( click here to see) and where you can also listen to parts of the songs. These metrics measure diverse characteristics and help us to understand the musical profile of the 50 most played. This reading of the data applies to all metrics. Note: if the value approaches 0, it means that the song has less “danceability”. Higher liveness values represent an increased probability that the track was performed live.

Popularity: it represents how much music is popular at a level of 0 to 100.We have collected this data through the Spotify API, using the R language and the function of the Spotify package “Get Playlist Audio Features”, resulting in the following metrics which are further explained on the Spotify website. We - Greice Matos, Lucas de David and Júnior Siri, data professionals - analysed the most streamed songs of the decade and its profile based on Spotify’s metrics. The platform is not only a place to listen to songs of any genre but it is also a rich source for behaviour study based on users consumption.

Every day thousands and thousands of songs are listened on Spotify.
